The line-up at Northampton’s German Market has been revealed by the borough council

From Thursday, the market will be on the pedestrianised stretch of Abington Street with a dozen wooden stalls selling food and drink as well as traditional Christmas gifts and decorations.

Shoppers can also sample the German beer, Gluhwein and Bratwurst sausages while browsing the market for Christmas gift ideas and handcrafted decorations.

An Oompah Band will also play a selection of well-known classics.

Councillor Brandon Eldred, Northampton Borough Council cabinet member for Community Engagement, said: “Christmas is one of my favourite times of year and there will be plenty to enjoy in Northampton and the German market was a favourite addition to the town last Christmas.

“There is a great mix of magical and traditional events and entertainment that we hope will bring a lot of joy.”

The market will open every day from 9.30am to 7pm until December 20.
