A 21-year-old Northamptonshire woman who has had three heart attacks and is battling bone cancer has set up a fund-raising page to help her afford private treatment.

Roseanne Thompson has been diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer, and requires surgery to remove a tumour from her leg.

The cancer diagnosis comes after a seven-year period in which she has suffered three heart attacks due to various health issues including severe asthma.

Ms Thompson, who has three children under the age of six, said she is unable to play with her children as she risks suffering an asthma attack.

Writing on her fund-raising page, Ms Thompson, of Corby, who has to use an oxygen tank daily, said she believed private clinics would give her a better chance of a long-term solution to her health problems.

She said: “I have never been lucky, and I’m trying to raise money private treatment.

“Although the NHS is good for most people they have always let me down and left me worse for wear, there is so much out there in private clinics.

“I refuse to claim disability as not just because I am too proud, but the system has always done me wrong I will never turn to them to let me down as usual.

“I know no one will understand, but I want a chance to live my life with my children, a chance to be what they deserve and a chance to have a day where I’m not struggling to breathe or worry my health will take me before I see my kids grow up.”
