In July British Footwear Association (BFA) apprentice Lufuidy Paxi was awarded the title ‘Young Apprentice of the Year’ at the 2015 Northamptonshire Youth Ambition Awards, having been nominated by Northamptonshire Enterprise Partnership’s (NEP) Job Brokerage team.

Lufuidy, also an Apprentice Ambassador, was also a finalist in the Pride in Northamptonshire Awards ‘Inspire a Generation’ category.

Lufuidy, 20, a business administration apprentice at the BFA in Wellingborough, is committed to the Apprentice Ambassador programme. Devised by NEP, it provides Lufuidy and the other ambassadors opportunities to support school events and give talks to young people, encouraging them to consider the benefits of apprenticeships offered by local businesses.

Lufuidy also supports NEP’s Love Bright Futures campaign, which this year is giving young people a fresh insight into the many great career, training and apprenticeship opportunities available close to home.

NEP job brokerage manager Jo Stewart said: “It has been a pleasure working with Lufuidy, who has been an inspiration to young people in Northamptonshire.”
