STAFF at Northamptonshire Police headquarters have pledged to help a schoolgirl fly to America for a life-changing operation to help walk for the first time.

Inspector Elliot Foskett said he and his team were touched by the Chron’s story of five-year-old Grace Windram, who suffers from cerebral palsy, and wanted to help her family raise £50,000 for the operation, scheduled for January.

Yesterday staff began with a dress-down day, raising hundreds of pounds.

Inspector Foskett, who organised the event, said the team hopes to continue to support Grace’s plight. To donate visit www.graces fund.org
