Northamptonshire groups for women and girls invited to apply for grants

A new fund set up to help the health and wellbeing of girls and women in the county is inviting people to apply for grants

Avon UK and Northamptonshire Community Foundation launched The Avon Female Empowerment Fund, on International Women’s Day, to benefit women and girls.

Managed by Northamptonshire Community Foundation on behalf of Avon Cosmetics the new Avon Female Empowerment Fund will offer grants between £250 and £3,000 for projects that will improve the quality of life for women and girls in Northamptonshire.

The fund will support projects that improve health and wellbeing, build skills and confidence and help women move on from violence and abuse.

Natalie Deacon of Avon Cosmetics said: “Avon has been empowering women for 130 years.

“At Avon we truly believe that if you empower women you can change the world.

“I am so proud to launch this fund with the Northamptonshire Community Foundation benefitting women and girls in this area, building on Avon’s history of supporting the causes that matter most to women.”

Rachel McGrath Grants Director said: “We are delighted to be working on the delivery of this new funding programme on behalf of Avon to empower and support women and girls within Northamptonshire communities and help build gender parity.

“We welcome applications from a range of projects which may include building skills and confidence, improving health and wellbeing, helping women move on from violence and abuse and creating support and social networks.”
