A teenager who was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a stabbing in Kettering has been bailed.

A spokesman for Northamptonshire Police said: “A 17-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following an alleged stabbing in Central Avenue, Kettering, on Sunday, July 19.

“Officers were called to the scene just after 9pm.

“A 16-year-old boy received serious, but not life threatening, injuries and is now being treated at University Hospital Coventry.”

He said the 17-year-old has now been bailed pending further inquiries and that the investigation is still ongoing.

The 16-year-old was stabbed in the stomach.
