Staff from a Northampton company aim to raise thousands for charity as they embark on a 1980s themed car rally to Germany and back.
Employees from Keyline, Northampton-based supplier of building materials and solutions, will be digging out their shoulder pads, leg warmers and hair mousse to finish the four-day rally for the Prostate Cancer UK charity.
Keyline marketing director, Stephen Riggens, said: “We are proud to help raise money for Prostate Cancer UK and this fundraising rally is really great because it allows our staff to have fun and go on a great adventure for a worthwhile cause.
“Not only are we raising awareness in the local community, but also across the UK and Europe and hopefully raising a smile or two as well.”
The route will take the teams from England on Wednesday, June 25, to Calais and on to Germany and Holland before returning to Dover on Sunday, June 29.
The team will comprise of a full 27 cars, all with themes based on 80s TV and film classics, such as Minder, the Dukes of Hazard, Top Gun, Ghostbusters and Knight Rider.
The Keyline Marketing Department, for example, will be known as ‘The K-team’, a play on the name of the 80s classic TV show.
