A host of artisan food and craft makers took up pitches at Delapre Abbey today as part of an event to promote local produce.
The food and craft fair took place on the picturesque south lawn with more than 20 stall holders selling everything from gourmet cakes, to flatbreads and handmade gifts.
Organiser Andy Hunting, who runs the popular food blog Andy’s Kitchen, said the event was all about showcasing local talent.
“Everything on sale here was made or produced within 30 miles.” He said. “There is so much great food out there in Northampton that people don’t know about, this is just about raising the awareness of that.”
The event saw Mr Hunting, who also organises the annual Crabstock event at The Obelisk Centre in Kingsthorpe, team up with the volunteer group Friends of Delapre Park.
Trustee Nicola Hedges, said the day gave the friends group a chance to talk to punters about the restoration project under way at the ancient abbey.
She said: “It certainly lured people onto the park and gave me a chance to talk to them about what we are trying to do here.
“It was great to see this fantastic space used as well.”
