A pub in Northampton will be closed for month while it undergoes a refurbishment.

The Sevens pub in Weedon Road, a popular sports pub, closed at the weekend and the bar and attached Frank’s Hamburger House restaurant will now benefit from an upgrade believed to total about £150,000.

It is likely to reopen in about four weeks’ time

A spokeswoman for Enterprise Inns said “Our venue the Sevens on Weedon Road is temporarily closed while it undergoes an exciting internal refurbishment, we aim to have it back open and trading as soon as possible and hope that the local community will visit to enjoy the new look and the great food and drink ranges on offer.”

Meanwhile, in another change for the Frank’s chain, Frank’s Steakhouse in Wellingborough Road is to relocate to an as yet unspecified location in Northamptonshire, opening early next year.

It will be replaced by another Frank’s eatery, this time a more casual dining restaurant.
