A pub in Northampton is to reopen in November after an overhaul of its food menu.

The Sunnyside Inn in Boughton Green Road - run under the Hungry Horse brand - will close on Saturday, October 5 then become a Marston’s Generous George pub when it relaunches on November 11.

A spokeswoman for the pub said the modern design inside and a new menu will help boost the number of regulars, who include a large number of students.

She added: “The look and feel of the pub will be completely different, so regulars can expect a fresh new look.

“There’ll be a pizza kitchen which will serve up a range of mouth-watering freshly baked pizzas, alongside Generous George favourites like burgers, bagels, George’s Chicken Shack and sweet treats to finish.”

Oliver Devine, of Marston’s, said: “We want to make sure they have a great time when they visit – we know the friendly, warm service and the wide choice of great value food and drinks are what really matters.

“But it’s also the little things such as a syrup station to customise drinks for free, letting customers choose their own glass for their cask ale or giving parents a family station to heat their baby’s food.”
