A primary school teacher in Northampton is planning to dye her hair pink to help raise money for Cancer Research.

Emma Valentine, who is a reception class teacher and senior leader at Hunsbury Park Primary School, wants to show her support for a colleague and friend at the school who has been diagnosed with breast cancer and is currently under going chemotherapy.

She said: “As a teacher I have also seen the devastating effect that losing a parent to cancer has on the young children that I have taught and I felt a year on I want to do something to raise money for Cancer Research.

“I spoke to my class of four and five year olds who thought that it would be a good idea to dye my hair pink.”

A hairdresser from Hensmans Northampton will be dying Ms Valentine’s hair pink on Friday (tomorrow). To donate go to her fundraisingpage
