Northampton postman Sgt Andy Hunter presented to William and Kate

A Northampton postman met The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall when they attended a Royal Mail reception to mark the 500th anniversary of the postal service.

Their Royal Highnesses are meeting long-serving post men and women from all over the UK as well as Royal Mail apprentices and Army reservists.

Postman and Army reservist Andy Hunter, from St James Mill delivery office, was one of those presented to the couple.

He is a Staff Sergeant with the Royal Army Medical Corps and has served in Kuwait, Iraq and Sierra Leone.

At the end of the reception their Royal Highnesses will unveiled a replica of an original Penfold-style post box, which will be permanently positioned in St Martin’s le Grand outside the former General Post Office Headquarters in London.
