The headteacher of Northampton High School has praised the success of Ellie Robinson after she was crowned the BBC's Young Sports Personality of the Year.
Swimmer Ellie, who won a gold medal and a bronze at the Rio Paralympics, received the honour during last week's One Show.
The news was celebrated by staff and pupils at Ellie's school, where she had already been presented with the a "biology challenge certificate" by headmistress, Dr Helen Stringer.
Dr Stringer, described the Paralympic champion as "incredibly determined" and that Ellie's success "comes from discipline, with really early starts and late finishes".
She added the school was "so proud" of Ellie's achievements, which had given "the whole school a lift", but the staff and girls "try and keep things as normal as possible for her".
