Northampton High School hosted more than 400 pupils from local schools at a performance of the senior school play ‘Collected Grimm Tales’.

A spokeswoman for the school said: “We were delighted to be joined by pupils from Hardingstone Academy, Hackleton Primary, Wootton School Primary, The Abbey Primary, Delapre Primary, Chiltern Primary and Broughton Manor.

“The play is an exciting adaptation by the current Poet Laureate, Carol Ann Duffy, and is based on the original fairy tales written down by the Brothers Grimm.

“Mrs Care, director of theatre, has chosen to reveal the ‘fantasy and fantastic’ by staging the piece using shadow imagery and physical theatre. Seven short tales were performed including Hansel and Gretel and Snow White.

“All the pupils were gripped by the stories and enthralled by the amazing costumes, make-up and imaginative sets,” the spokeswoman added.

The show will be performed to the public tonight, Friday March 4, and Saturday March 5 at 7pm.
