Northampton Town will feature the logo of Opus Energy on its shirts until the end of the 2017 season, the club has announced.
The energy supplier, which employs 650 people in the town, renewed their shirt sponsorship with the Cobblers today and say they will continue to “cheer them on” this season and the next.
Andy Nash, director of operations at Opus Energy, said: “Giving back to the local community is hugely important to us, and with our continued support of the Cobblers, we hope that we can give something back to our employees.
“Over the last two years, we’ve added 150 new roles to the business here in Northampton, bringing more NTFC fans into the company. Our employees enjoy the great opportunities that our partnership with the Cobblers brings, such as meeting the players and access to tickets.
“Northampton has a proud sporting tradition, and by continuing our association with the Cobblers, we hope to see more promotions and success as seen over recent years.”
Caroline Lucy, commercial and marketing manager for Northampton Town Football Club, said: “It is essential for us that we continue to build relationships with prominent local employers here in Northampton, such as Opus Energy.
“We are keen to see as many fans as possible support us week in, week out, and with Opus Energy powering us forward we hope to look forward to more exciting times.
"It is very important for the club to have relationships with existing sponsors on a long-term basis, such relationships illustrate the strength of the club and the high regard we are held in within the local business community.
“Opus Energy is a fast-growing company, and we are proud to be wearing their name on our shirts into the 2017/18 season. This is an ideal time to partner with a forward-thinking firm.”
