‘‘Our office move marks an exciting chapter in the story of CooperÖstlund and demonstrates the extent of the company’s growth in recent times. It also gives us scope for further development in the future as we look to build on our services and provide more customers across the UK with our technical expertise and support’

Duston-based gas engine specialist CooperÖstlund is celebrating another milestone in its history with the opening of a new office to accommodate its growing workforce.

While the company’s engineering operations will remain at its base in Lodge Farm Industrial Estate, its office staff – which includes the senior management team – have moved six miles up the road to Grovelands Business Park in East Haddon.

CooperÖstlund’s growing number of employees meant that the office team had outgrown the Duston base and so the search for a new home began. Over the last 18 months, the award-winning firm has taken on 12 additional members of staff, including a new parts team and four rebuild engineers. The company has also increased its service team, widening the company’s presence in the UK and covering more of the south west and Scotland.

The new office space at Grovelands Business Park, which was developed from the ruins of agricultural buildings, offers CooperÖstlund room for further growth in 2023. The offices provide improved infrastructure, a better working environment for staff and improved facilities including customer meeting rooms, staff and client parking and high-speed internet for remote engine support.

Chief Operating Officer Dan Walters said: “Our office move marks an exciting chapter in the story of CooperÖstlund and demonstrates the extent of the company’s growth in recent times.

“It also gives us scope for further development in the future as we look to build on our services and provide more customers across the UK with our technical expertise and support.”

CooperÖstlund’s new premises coincides with another significant development within the company – the expansion of its parts department and recruitment of specialist parts staff, along with the launch of its re-designed website.

The company, which specialises in gas engines, combined heat and power engines and helping organisations on their road to net zero, recently re-configured its workshop to accommodate a greater volume of stock and engine overhauls of MWM, Jenbacher and MAN, plus other makes of engines.

By increasing its stock holding and parts team and ability to overhaul, it means CooperÖstlund can provide speedy turnround times for parts supply and engines, reducing the amount of engine downtime for organisations feeling the impact of the cost-of-living crisis.

Another milestone earlier this year saw CooperÖstlund added to the suppliers list todeliver engineering services to the NHS.

The firm was added to the NHS Shared Business Services framework, a national provider for a range of estate and construction, health, digital and IT, and corporate services agreements.

The agreements can be used by all UK-based public sector organisations, including NHS organisations, local authorities, Further and Higher Education, housing associations and the emergency services.

CooperÖstlund’s new office address is Suite 12, Grovelands Business Park, West Haddon Road, East Haddon NN6 8FB.
