A group of theatre students from Northampton College have teamed up with the Royal & Derngate to lay on a First World War inspired afternoon tea.
The HND Theatre Practice and Technical Theatre students have worked alongside Royal & Derngate Creative Learning Director Trudy Bell to organise an afternoon tea party to be staged on Sunday, November 8 as part of a day-long event looking back at life in wartime Britain. L3 Dance students will also be taking part in the event.
The event will celebrate and commemorate all those local people who were involved in any way with the First World War and has been made possible thanks to funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund.
Guests will include volunteers on the Conflict & Community Project and local Veteran groups. The event will celebrate all of the Heritage-funded First World War Projects over the past 18 months and is part of a whole day of commemorative events at the theatre.
Student Tina Eason said: “Our guest list includes volunteers that have worked on the project over the last 18 months and also local organisations who we feel are key to the event itself, for example: The WI, The British Legion, Boys/Girls Brigade and ex-service personnel.”
A Day To Remember will be held at Royal & Derngate from 2pm on Sunday, November 8.
