The Northampton Arts Collective has been awarded charity status by the Charity Commission.
The collective, which is the organisation behind NN Contemporary Art, aims to promote art for the benefit of the public through contemporary gallery exhibitions, education programme and events.
Chairman of NAC, Duncan Bisatt, said: “I am very pleased that NAC’s contribution to developing Contemporary Art and Education opportunities for the public has been recognised by the Charity Commission as worthy of registration.
“This is an endorsement of our work in showcasing art by local and international contemporary artists to Northampton.
“It is a big step forward for the organisation and will help us in expanding our current programme of exhibitions and events and our provision of facilities to support artists in collaboration with our funders and partners at the county and borough councils, the University of Northampton and Arts Council England.
“We are very pleased to have achieved this milestone, which marks a significant moment in the development of NAC. This recognition reinforces our credibility as an organisation and should assist us to develop our programme and resources,” he added.
