A new steakhouse that is set to take over a budget carvery venue in Northampton will open its doors by the autumn, its owners say.
Miller & Carter will begin trading following “an extensive refurbishment” of the Toby Carvery at Talavera Way, Thorplands.
Both brands are owned by pub firm Mitchells & Butlers’, which says the current staff at the venue will be offered jobs either at the new steakhouse or elsewhere in the company.
The refurbishment will start in August, with the venue likely open the following month.
The new-look premises, situated by the Travelodge on Round Spinney roundabout, will be fitted out with a new outdoor seating area and the interior will feature booth seating and modern artwork.
Sue Walsh, of Miller & Carter, said: “Bringing a new Miller & Carter to Northampton is a fantastic opportunity for the brand and we look forward to providing the best steaks and service that we are renowned for across the UK.”
The firm claims to serve only “premium-graded beef” sourced from cattle reared on British and Irish farms.

There are currently 43 Miller and Carter outlets across the UK, with the nearest being in Finham, Coventry.
