A new Sky TV television studio has been installed at Northamptonshire County Cricket ground

The new media facilities are aimed at improving the current television broadcasting services at the Wantage Road ground in Northampton.

The work, which also includes an new camera gantry position, was carried out by Northants-based GSSarchitecture.

Ray Payne, Northants Cricket Chief Executive said: “We are delighted with the new Sky boxes here at the County Ground. Many of our members and visitors have commented positively about how they look and they already feel part of the ground. We can’t wait to use them”.

Senior Partner at GSS, David Allsop said: “We are very thankful to all contractors and Northants Cricket staff, particularly Ray Payne, chief executive, for all their assistance in the process of this development. Additionally, we would like to wish Northants Cricket continued good luck in the forthcoming season”.

The first televised Sky match was on Thursday, June 11 between the Northampton Steelbacks and the Derbyshire Falcons.
