THE planning application for the new conference centre and hotel at Sixfields Stadium is due to go before planners soon.
The hotel is expected to contain 100 beds and talks are on-going with a number of hotel chains. Once planning permission has been obtained, Mr Cardoza said work would be completed on the hotel in about 12 months.
The conference centre was originally hoped to be completed by the beginning of the next season. But now the plans had been improved to link it with the West Stand and the hotel, it is now likely to be finished by January or February, Mr Cardoza said.
The West Stand would now be significantly improved.
“We have saved the money elsewhere which means we can now put in new players’ facilities, improve the box office, create much better offices for the staff and build a corporate area for a directors’ box and other hospitality boxes.”
Cobblers are currently battling to avoid relegation. Their last home game of the season will be against Oxford United on Saturday, May 3.
“We urge fans to keep on supporting us the way that they have. We need one last, big push so that we can draw a line under this season and look forward to a brighter future,” Mr Cardoza added.
