More than £11 million of infrastructure including a new school and a new country park is being paid for by a housing developer as part of a plan for 1,000 new homes.
Developer Crest Nicholson is building the new Monksmoor Park Park estate and has revealed a raft of investment plans as part of a ‘community benefits package’.
The plans include:
* £4 million provision for the construction of a new primary school
* Provision of a c.20 hectare country park between Daventry Country Park and Grand Union Central
* Delivery of a new bus service between the new development and Daventry Town Centre
* Allocation of £50,000 towards health facilities
* A £2.3 million contribution towards the construction of a bypass
* Creation of a Community Interest Company for the long term stewardship of the development by residents and £575,000 contribution towards the construction of a new community building
