A number of new polling stations are to be introduced in Northampton to cope with the recent population growth in the town.

At a meeting next week Northampton Borough councillors are set to discuss plans to change the boundaries of a number of wards in the town including Abington, Castle, Delapre and Briar Hill.

The changes have been made as the introduction of The Electoral Registration and Administration Act 2013 requires each local authority to carry out a review of polling districts and polling places every fifth year.

The Local Returning Officer initiated a full and comprehensive review of polling districts and polling places immediately following the Parliamentary

and Local Elections held on May 7, 2015.
