A recruitment day for teachers to join the new Wootton Park School in Northampton...but the trust behind the project has still not confirmed exactly where it will be built.

It is known that Northamptonshire Police wants to leave Wootton Hall as it reviews the buildings it uses across the county, but the trust has only said the school “will open in the NN4 area of Northampton” and that an announcement was imminent.

Its website says, as of today, that the school will open in 300 days. Work has already started on a new £2.7 million roundabout outside the entrance to the police headquarters. The roundabout has been funded by Northamptonshire County Council, with £500,000 from the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner.

The school is holding an open afternoon on Saturday November 21 at the Northampton Marriott Hotel in Eagle Drive for parents and carers with children starting reception in 2016.

On the same day, the trust will be holding a recruitment session for prospective teaching and support staff.

Principal Dan Rosser, who joins the school in January 2016, said: “We continue to make great progress towards the opening of Wootton Park School in September 2016.

“We have recently appointed an inspirational Vice Principal (Primary Phase) who will have an oversight of our primary learners, and we look forward to telling you more about the successful candidate shortly. Parents can rest assured that negotiations on our proposed site in the NN4 area are nearing conclusion. Our school will provide an outstanding learning environment, and we will let you know as soon as we can share more information.

“I look forward to meeting families with children interested in joining us in Reception in September 2016, as well as those interested in joining our staff team, at our upcoming events”.
