The new owners of a Northampton town centre nightclub are hoping their venue will provide the same sonic thrills as some of the famous names in Ibiza.
Latvian DJs Andre Dobrovolskis, 29, and Dainis Tolvaisa, 34, have taken over the former Faces Bar venue in Bridge Street and are hoping to make a success of it.
The two friends have worked at bars and clubs around Northampton, but this is their first venture together,
However, they are aware the venue gathered an unwanted reputation for trouble back in 2014, after a mass brawl started in Faces Bar and spilled out onto Bridge Street.
Bur Mr Tolvaisa, said the new club - called Stereo - will have a different “vibe.”
He said: “It will definitely be a different crowd in here.
“We want to make sure it is really secure and a really nice place.
“We have put CCTV in everywhere.”
Mr Dobrovolskis, who left a career in logistics to take up the venture and used to run a hugely popular club night in Shoreditch, said the men have installed one of the biggest sound systems in Northampton inside Stereo and aim to focus on playing “house” and “techno” music.
Their inspiration are the Sankeys nightclubs in ibiza and Manchester
The pals, who met organising gig nights in Latvia, say they are expecting some are expecting some “big names” to play at Stereo in August.
The club will be open until 4.30am on Fridays and Saturdays.
