The National Symphony Orchestra will join singer Alfie Boe on stage as he performs in Northampton later this month, it has been announced.
The award-winning orchestra, which joined Alfie in 2014 for his UK ‘Serenata’ tour and 2015 performance at Hampton Court Palace, will be conducted by Richard Balcombe.
During his Alive @ Delapre show on Sunday, July 19, Alfie will also duet with opera rising star Annette Wardell.
The Yorkshire soprano, who joined Alfie on the stage in Sir Peter Hall’s Glyndebourne production of Albert Herring, will also perform some solos of her own during the show and star in the event’s flag-waving finale.
Councillor Brandon Eldred, cabinet member for community engagement at Northampton Borough Council, said: “We are delighted that Alfie Boe will be joined by such high calibre musicians and are looking forward to Delapre Park being filled with such wonderful music and voices.”
Also performing at Alive At Delapre this year are McBusted on Friday 17 July and Jessie J on Saturday 18 July. Tickets for the Alive At Delapre concerts are available to buy from Royal & Derngate, Ticketmaster and Amazon Local.
