An MP raised a glass to the re-opening of a pub following a £390,000 refurbishment.
Kettering MP Philip Hollobone visited The Woolcomber pub in Kettering for its re-launch last month.
It comes after a £390,000 investment by pub operator Punch, with the refurbishment creating 10 new jobs at the pub.
The refurbishment has seen everything updated, including new flooring, fixtures and fittings together with soft furnishings.
The two bars have been opened up to create one large space with clearly defined areas, including a games area, lounge dining and a central entertainment zone.
Externally, the pub has new, improved lighting and signage, together with new garden furniture, landscaping and planters.
Commenting on the re-launch, publicans Donna and Stuart Rebhan said: “We’ve lived close to the pub for most of our lives and could always see its potential; we were delighted to be given the opportunity to work with Punch on this major investment that has completely transformed the Woolcomber.
“The opening night was fantastic and we were delighted that MP Philip Hollobone was able to join us.
“We had a live band and the bar was packed with people calling in to see what we had done with the place.
“It was great to hear the positive comments and that customers were planning on making The Woolcomber their local now that the improvements have been made.”
Craig Taylor, Punch’s openings manager, said: “Our main priority was to restore the Woolcomber to its rightful place at the heart of the community, with a clear focus on delivering a great pub experience for local people.
“We’re confident that our customers will be delighted with the refurbishment; it’s still a true local pub, with a strong food and drink offer together with a regular programme of events to bring the community together.
“It’s been great to work with Donna and Stuart on this investment.
“The fact that they’re local and know the area and the community well has been invaluable in shaping our plans for the pub.
“We’re looking forward to continuing to support the team as they build on the launch and develop their plans for the future.”
The Woolcomber offers a range of food with a menu of traditional pub favourites, together with snacks and a wide range of drinks.
