Mountain bike and handbag stolen, and car broken into in Northampton

A thief stole a mountain bike from a house in Northampton before breaking into a car at a neighbouring property.

The man climbed over the fence of a property in Meshaw Crescent, Abington at about 7.30pm on Thursday, January 7, went into the garage and stole a red Ammaco mountain bike.

He then climbed back over the fence and approached a blue Toyota Picnic car which was parked nearby.

He broke into the vehicle and stole a handbag which contained cash before making off along Parracombe Way.

He was white, aged about 30, with a fair complexion and stocky build.

He was about 6ft and wore a high-visibility jacket, a grey hoodie and grey tracksuit bottoms.
