A motorcyclist suffered serious head and leg injuries after drifting into a barrier on the A45 in Northamptonshire yesterday (Monday).

The 32-year-old, who is from Higham Ferrers, was travelling eastbound near Rushden shortly before 5pm when, at the slip road for the Buddies diner service area, he drifted from lane one into the slip road.

He then struck the kerb and the barrier and was airlifted to University Hospital Coventry.
