A Northampton woman, who topped the podium at this years Miss Swimsuit UK, is competing for the first place title at a world final competition in the Caribbean this week.

Monika Sztabnik, 30, of Far Cotton battled it out in the Manchester-based competition back in September against other model hopefuls before being flown to the Dominican Republic for a week of competing on Tuesday November 1.

The model and animal-lover, who moved from Poland to Northampton when she was 18-years-old, hopes to raise awareness for Northamptonshire Animals Needing Nurturing & Adoption (NANNA) animal rescue, which is a charity finding new forever homes for unwanted pets.

Verena Twigg, event organiser at Miss Swimsuit UK told the Chronicle and Echo that the competition represents women with a healthy and active lifestyle.

“Miss Swimsuit UK wants to nurture woman, we empowered Monika after she failed to place the first time she entered the competition to find the confidence to enter again.”

After winning Miss Swimsuit UK, Mrs Sztabnik won an all inclusive experience to compete this week against 70 girls across the globe at the world finals in hope to win £50,000.

Mrs Sztabnik, who is married to her “childhood sweetheart” will be judged throughout the week and will get the chance to swim with dolphins before the winner is announced on Saturday November 5.
