A 45-year-old man has been left with a court bill of almost £300 after he admitted urinating in Abington Street in the middle of the day.
John Diggin, of Greenfield Avenue, Spinney Hill, appeared at Northampton Magistrates’ Court on Thursday after he was charged with breaching a byelaw by urinating in public.
The court heard that Diggin was seen by a police officer urinating in the busy shopping street at 1.15pm on September 14 this year.
Stella Moses, prosecuting, said Diggin was told repeatedly to stop urinating by the police officer and was believed to be under the influence of alcohol.
Diggin was fined £35 and must pay court costs of £260.
