A man is in hospital after he was pulled out of Becket’s Park marina and resuscitated last night.
The 49-year-old is believed to have fallen into the water at around 6.45pm and was spotted by members of the public.
Police, firefighters and paramedics were called to the scene and officers, who waded into the water, managed to drag him from the canal before attending to him at the water’s edge.
A spokesman for Northamptonshire Police said: “The officers pulled the man from the river and conducted CPR.
“The man was taken to Northampton General Hospital where he remains for treatment.”
Police are not believed to be treating the incident as suspicious.
