A Northampton teenager has been charged with GBH following an attack in the town that left another teen with serious injuries.

Alamin Mohammed, aged 19, was arrested after paramedics were called out to a 19-year-old in St James Park Road in the early hours of yesterday morning (Thursday, July 2).

He was taken to hospital with serious, but not life threatening.

The road was cordoned off following the incident yesterday as police launched a search for a weapon they believed had been used in the fight.

Mohammed, of Greenwood Road, Northampton, appeared before Northampton Magistrates’ Court this morning and was remanded in custody.

He is due to appear at Northampton Crown Court later in the month.

Officers investigating the incident are continuing to appeal for witnesses and anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
