Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was attacked with a hammer in Northamptonshire.

The incident happened in Nelson Street in Kettering at about 7.45pm on Wednesday, August 5, with police only just releasing the information.

The man was hit to the body and the head with the hammer by a group of three white men, who were all wearing dark clothes and balaclavas.

The offenders left the scene in a black Vauxhall Corsa and drove towards Regent Street.
