One man was arrested after police spent several hours searching a house in Rushden.

Armed officers joined colleagues while they carried out a search of the property in Highfield Road in the town yesterday afternoon (Wednesday).

The search was part of a planned police operation, which saw officers remain at the scene for several hours after going into the house at 4pm.

Following the operation, a police spokesman said today: “As a result of yesterday’s operation, one man was arrested.

“All cordons in the area are now down and police have left the scene.”

The spokesman said they were unable to provide any further details about the operation.
