Four young fans were given copies of the Magic Kitten books by the hugely popular author Sue Bentley, from Northampton

Laura McKain, James Huckerby, Ariella Startin-Ashley and Maille Howard entered a Chron competition to win the books as part of the Magic Kitten is Back campaign.

The four were handed the books personally by Sue, who features in the list of most borrowed authors in UK at Duston library.

Sue said: “It was a great event, a good turn-out of readers and parents. I always enjoy meeting my young readers.”

Thirteen-year-old Ariella, who has been a fan of Sue’s books since she the age of four, got a special Top Reader certificate.

Sue said: “She had a very battered copy of A Very Special Friend with her - my favourite kind, as it shows how much a book has been loved.”
