A memorial service will take place in Harpole next month to remember men who fought in World War One.
Harpole Heritage Group plan to place 55 wooden crosses for each of the men who risked their lives in the first World War at the base of the War memorial in Harpole churchyard.
The service will take place on August 4 at 6pm to mark the century anniversary of World War One.
Jennifer Smith, helping organise the memorial, said: “it must have been a devastating time.”
The memorial is also aiming to trace the relatives of the 55 service men, thought to take a quarter of the men in Harpole village, to take part in remembering the occasion.
If you are a relative or know someone who is, please contact Jennifer Smith - telephone 01604 831294 or June Bennett - telephone 01604 830703 with information.
