A police dog team was called out by workers to the former Greyfriars bus station in Northampton.

Officers conducted a search of the area on Friday morning following a call from a worker who was concerned someone was looking to strip redundant cable from the derelict building.

However police could find no trace of an intruder or evidence of an attempted theft.

The building is being gutted by demolition crews and is due to be demolished by the end of next summer.
