Water crisis latest: 75% of Northampton homes will have all-clear by Friday
It is hoped three-quarters of customers affected by Northampton's tap water ban will no longer have to boil their water from Friday.
Anglian Water's estimate has risen from 60 per cent to 75 per cent of customers having their boil notices removed following the success of work at Pitsford Water Treatment Works.
The company said flushing work in Daventry is ahead of schedule and the estimated time for removing the boil notice has been reduced by a week, to Friday, July 22.
Details about the lifting of the boil notice in the Northampton area will be released on Friday. Customers should continue to boil their water until they receive green all clear cards.
