A nursing home in Northampton has been told to improve its standards of hygiene following a visit by inspectors.

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) has issued a formal warning to the owner of Lindsay House in Lindsay Avenue, Abington, saying safety for residents and infection control were below acceptable standards.

The inspectors found there were dirty bathrooms, some of which and no support rails for elderly people who struggle to stand.

Andrea Gordon, regional deputy director of operations for the CQC, said: “The law says these are the standards that everyone should be able to expect. Providers have a duty to ensure they are compliant.”
