Volunteers join clean up at park
A pocket park in Northampton got a makeover after more than a dozen volunteers turned out to clear the green space.
Obelisk Spinney Pocket Park Community Interest Company helped clear the paths and cut back ivy and branches at the park in Kingsthorpe.
Steve Campbell, a director of the company, said: "The park definitely needed it because in the last couple of weeks, everything has just shot up.
"What we want to do is get the community more involved and if we get the kids to appreciate the woodlands we won't get vandalism and the destruction that happened a few years ago.
"We're now looking for grants to carry out some tree work in the spinney."
