A bride-to-be had the surprise of her life when a flashmob took over a Northampton town centre restaurant she was sitting in.
Adam Hewson proposed to Harriet Scott on Friday night at The Church Restaurant in Bridge Street in front of all their friends of family.
Captured on film, Harriet can be seen waiting in the bar area of the restaurant when a woman comes in singing A Thousand Years from the hit film Twilight.
More and more people came into the room, creating a flashmob scene until Harriet is surrounded by family and friends.
Adam can then be seen coming in at the last minute before going down on one knee to propose to his tearful girlfriend, while everyone cheered and clapped.
Alexandra Harding, general manager at The Church, said: “When Polly and Lucy (Harriet’s sisters) first got in touch, it was mainly discussions. They popped down to the restaurant and we agreed for the proposal to take place in the chapel bar.
“They said they had such bad luck in getting anywhere to help them, but as soon as I met them, I knew I wanted to help them in any way I could. It probably also helped that we’re hopeless romantics here at the Church! “After some planning the day arrived and we were all so excited to actually see it all in motion.
“Naturally, it was an absolute pleasure to be a part of, they are a lovely couple and they have a fabulous family, it was really heart-warming to see so many of them singing for one couple, when he got down on one knee....I cried!
“I wish them many happy years together and hope to see them all again soon.....perhaps even for a wedding.”
