The 2014 Delapre Beer Festival opened yesterday afternoon (Thursday) with organisers expecting a good turnout.
The beer festival, held at Delapre Park, features more than 200 beers and 90 ciders as well as country wines, gin and locally-sourced food, plus live music.
It is expected that around 35,000 pints will be drunk over the next couple of days.
About 8,000 people attended last year’s festival and after receiving feedback from customers, this year’s event features additional seating areas, a traditional band stand and improved entry systems.
Among the beers on offer, there is various award-winning titles, including Beijing Black’ brewed by Kettering-based brewery Potbelly, which won ‘Supreme Champion’ at the SIBA National Beer Competition in 2006.
The Delapre Beer Festival is in partnership with the Wig & Pen and is open from today (Friday), 11am – 10pm and tomorrow (Saturday), 11am – 10pm.
Phipps NBC will celebrate its return to brewing in the town with an exhibition stand at the event. Last month, the company started brewing in Northampton again after an absence of more than four decades.
