A ‘spontaneous’ student from the University of Northampton is undertaking her first music tour - with a unique twist.

Yoshe Watson will be travelling from John O’Groats to Lands End in seven days, performing seven gigs along the way. But instead of using a tour bus, she will be hitchhiking the entire journey.

Miss Watson, 20, said “I was half asleep one night, and then it just came to me. I couldn’t get back to sleep because I was so excited about it, I’m a big fan of spontaneous adventures.”

She will be travelling with filmmaker Gareth Askew, who will be making a music video for her song ‘Shake Your Chains’, as well as a short film of the entire tour.

The tour starts tomorrow (Thursday) and gigs will take place in a variety of different locations including a hostel, art gallery and people’s homes.

Miss Watson said: “We’re doing gigs in people’s houses and looking to bring people together through music....music doesn’t have to be played in a venue.”
