The University of Northampton has been shortlisted in the ‘University of the Year’ category of the Times Higher Education (THE) awards.
The university is one of six institutions in with a chance of winning the award including University of Birmingham, University of East Anglia, University of Huddersfield, Newcastle University and York St John University.
The winner will be announced on 28 November 2013 at an awards ceremony in London.
Professor Nick Petford, vice chancellor of the University of Northampton, said: “When I joined the University of Northampton in 2010, I was clear in my intention to develop the university into a leading institution committed to delivering life changing opportunities in education.
“The academic and professional services staff at the university have been working exceptionally hard to deliver excellent courses and provide an outstanding student experience alongside social impact for individuals and communities.
“The shortlisting for this prestigious award is testament to our collaborative effort during the last academic year.”
