Snow is expected to fall across Northamptonshire for the rest of Sunday, the Met office has warned.
Temperatures are expected to reach a high of only -2C throughout the day.
The local forecast from Pitsford Hall Weather Station added: “The snow seen on Sunday morning should remain light, although it will turn heavy for a time through the afternoon with the potential for up to 5cm of additional accumulation by the end of the day, perhaps more on higher ground.
“The snow is expected to continue this evening and overnight, but becoming light and patchy.”
The Met office has also predicted more snow overnight, but said it should stop in the early hours of the morning with none forecast for Monday.
In preparation for the snow on Sunday afternoon, crews from Northamptonshire County Council have re-filled the county’s 2,000-plus grit bins.
Both First buses in Northampton and National Express have said their services continue to operate as normal, but Stagecoach have said their services are subject to delay.
Train operator London Midland has said it plans to operate all its timetabled services on Sunday.
