Trial of accused child sex abuser is delayed by a week

The trial of a man who has denied a catalogue of historic sexual offences against three children has been put back until next week.

Eugene McHugh, aged 50, was due to stand trial at Northampton Crown Court yesterday, accused of 10 charges of rape and sexual assault.

McHugh, of Carlton Road, Kingsley denies all the allegations but it was adjourned after a successful defence application.

Judge Thomas Corrie said the trial will begin on Monday and released McHugh on bail.
