A baby was delivered at a Northamptonshire hotel after his mum started to give birth on the way to hospital.
Samantha Taylor from Daventry was being driven to Northampton General on December 21 with mum Yvonne and her partner James when she started pushing.
The family had to pull off the road as soon as possible and happened to be near the Holiday Inn near Flore.
They told the receptionist what was happening and managed to get her to a room just before the baby appeared.
Yvonne said: “I rushed in still on the phone to the ambulance control room, shouting, We need a room, we need a room!
“The poor guy obviously didn’t have a clue what I was on about, saying, okay madam, I’ll see if we have anything, and probably thinking I was mad.
“He deserves a lot of credit because he stayed very calm and was an absolute star.”
Samantha was quickly found a nearby room and the baby’s head appeared minutes later.
By that time paramedics had arrived and delivered a baby boy, who has been named Charlie, weighing 8lb 20z.
Charlie’s grandmother Shirley Blood said: “It must have been quite dramatic at the time but we’ve had quite a few jokes about it since.
“It may have been a Christmas time birth but for Charlie there was some room at the Inn.”
