The Only Way Is Essex stars ready for Sixfields clash

Two stars of The Only Way Is Essex popped into Sixfields this afternoon to help promote a charity football match being staged in Northampton on Sunday.

Reality TV stars Mario Falcone and ‘Little Chris’ are both taking part in Sunday’s celebrity match, which will see the likes of Robbie Savage, popstar Lee Ryan and cricketer Michael Vaughan trot out at Sixfields.

Organisers hope the William Hill Foundation Cup will raise around £50,000 for Project Africa.

Mario, who will captain a side that will take on a Robbie Savage XI, said: “It is good and it is a good charity.”

Mario has been preparing for the match by winding former professional football Savage up about on social networking site Twitter.

He told the Chron today: “It is all light-hearted and we are trying to get people excited for the event.

“We met at the launch the other day and got on really well but as soon as we left the banter started.

“My prediction is we will win 6-1, or maybe 6-2.”

Little Chris said: “We are always busy filming so we don’t get the chance to go and have a Sunday kick about like we used to do.

“Now, we can do this which is great for us and it raises awareness for the charity.”

Asked about his football ability, he added: “My football skills are fine, but it is my mobility that is the problem. Fitness could be the problem.”

Other star taking part in the match include Radio and TV Presenter Vernon Kay, Harry Judd from McFly and former middleweight Boxing Champion Joe Calzaghe.

Tickets are still on sale at sellebrity.org.uk/sellebrity-soccer priced £10 for adults and £5 for children in advance.

Otherwise it is £12 for an adult and £7 for a child on the day.

Kick off is 3pm on Sunday.
