Taking a break at home
Pensioners who won a Dragon's Den-style competition for a project which gives the elderly a holiday in their own home have been presented with their £2,000 prize.
The group pitched for 2,000 at the Northampton General Hospital event to help fund the Holiday at Home scheme.
The scheme puts on a week's worth of entertainment and meals for older people in Northamptonshire who have not had a break for two years.
Co-founder Martin Crossman helped win over the judges by getting into the holiday spirit and donning a knotted hanky and beachwear, before enthusing about the mental health benefits of the scheme.
Sheila Baker, of the Friends of Northampton General Hospital, has now presented the group with their prize money, along with a chocolate cake, at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church.
